Special Sessions
Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis signed a proclamation to hold a special session focused on redistricting the state’s congressional maps. The special session is scheduled to convene between April 20 and 24. [WESH2]
North Dakota adjourned a three-day special session on January 23. The session, called by Republican Gov. Kelly Armstrong, concluded with lawmakers approving a budget and several bills to authorize and appropriate federal rural health transformation funding and related measures. [North Dakota Monitor]

For businesses, these changes signal a growing compliance shift: companies may need to update subscription terms, consent flows, cancellation pathways, and customer notification processes as new standards emerge in key states. Most recently, New Jersey’s A5395, which would have expanded statewide auto-renewal rules, was conditionally vetoed on January 12, 2026. | |
